1934 - Born on the 24th of August in Garoua, Cameroon. 1940 - Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo entered the politics of French Cameroun.
1960 - Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo was elected president of Cameroon when it gained independence. - Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo experienced a rebellion from a group known as the Union of the Peoples of Cameroon.
1965 - Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo was reelected, gradually establishing the complete dominance of his own party and outlawing all others. 1970 - Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo created an unpopular constitution which ended the autonomy of British Cameroon and established unitary rule.
