1914 – An American oncologist who played a prominent role in the introduction of chemotherapy for cancer was born this year.    1932 – Charles Gordon Zubrod studied at Georgetown Preparatory School.

   1940 – Charles Gordon Zubrod went to college in Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, served in the U. S.

army medical corps during World War II, where Charles Gordon Zubrod worked on a replacement for quinine in the treatment of malaria.    1946 – Charles Gordon Zubrod commenced work at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, and was appointed assistant professor of medicine.

   1953 – Charles Gordon Zubrod became the Director of research at Saint Louis University.    1956 – Charles Gordon Zubrod became head of the Division of Cancer Treatment of the National Cancer Institute.
