1911 - Born on the 13th of January in Port Arthur, Texas.  1929 – Mildred Ella Zaharias was the high-scoring forward on the girls' basketball team at Beaumont Senior High School.

 1930 – His coach Melvin J. McCombs gave her a job with the Employers Casualty Company of Dallas, and Mildred Ella Zaharias was soon a star player on its Golden Cyclones.

The team won the national championship and Mildred Ella Zaharias became the American forward player of the next years.  1931 - Mildred Ella Zaharias won first place in eight events at the National Women's AAU Track Meet  1932 – Her team Illinois Women's Athletic placed second with twenty-two points and Mildred Ella Zaharias scored 30 points.

Gallico also referred to her as "the most talented athlete, male or female, ever developed in our country.
