1876- Born in Breadysville, Pa. -was a comparatives psychologist known primarily for his work on primates.

-During World War I Robert Mearns Yerkes developed the Army Alpha intelligence test, given to more than 1 million recruits. 1929-Yerkes founded the Yale Laboratories of Primate Biology, which were later renamed in his honor and transferred to Emory University, Atlanta, Ga.

1956- Died on February 3.
