1876 - Worked as an inspector and Resident Magistrate of Duff. 1882 - Sir Henry Arthur Blake was raised to the position of Special Resident Magistrate.
1884-1887 - Served as the Governor of Bahamas. 1887-1889 - Transferred to Newfoundland, where Sir Henry Arthur Blake served as Governor.
1886 - Blake was appointed to Queensland, but resigned without entering the administration. - Sir Henry Arthur Blake was made governor of the Bahamas, and was transferred to Newfoundland.
- Sir Henry Arthur Blake was knighted the same year. 1889 - Became the Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief of Jamaica.
