Biography of David Losh:

1909 - Born in the town of Svisloch, Russia on the 23rd of June.  1921 - David Losh and his family emigrated to Montreal where David Losh grew up and attended McGill University.

 1936-1950 - David Losh was national secretary of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation.  1940-1949 - David Losh ran for the Canadian House of Commons in 1940, 1943, 1945 and 1949 but was defeated on each occasion.

 1962-1974 - Elected as a Member of Parliament.  1971 - David Losh ran to succeed retiring NDP leader Tommy Douglas, and won the leadership convention.

 1972 - David Losh led the NDP through the federal election in which David Losh uttered his best known quotation calling Canadian corporations "corporate welfare bums".  1974 - David Losh lost his seat in Parliament, leading him to resign as party leader.
