S. government and led to his overthrow.
1935-1937 - Jacobo Arbenz Guzman served the Guatemalan Army. 1939 - Married to Maria Cristina Vilanova.
1951-1954 - Jacobo Arbenz Guzman was elected president of Guatemala with the largest majority in Guatemalan history. - CIA planes bombed the capital and US trained and armed troops poured over the border.
Arbenz resigned. Guatermala's ten-year "democratic spring" came to an abrupt end.
