1962 - Anne Hanson earned her Ph. D.

in the history of art at Bryn Mawr College. 1970 - Anne Hanson taught at a number of schools, including Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore College and New York University, and was director of the International Study Center of the Museum of Modern Art before joining the Yale faculty.

1974 - Anne Hanson was appointed chairman, the title Anne Hanson preferred of the Department of the History of Art.          - The first woman to be hired as a full professor at Yale.

1977 - Her book "Manet and the Modern Tradition" received the prestigious Morey Award for Scholarship in the History of Art. 1978 - Anne Hanson was named as the John Hay Whitney Professor in the History of Art.

1980 - Anne Hanson researched, wrote and lectured on Futurism, an avant-garde aesthetic movement that flourished in the early 20th century.
