In March 2008, Elizabeth joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars. Shannon Elizabeth was partnered with Derek Hough and, after five weeks, rumors of a relationship ensued. When asked live on the show if Shannon Elizabeth and Hough were dating, Elizabeth responded by saying, "We're great friends and we were just getting in the character of the dance".
On April 29, 2008, Elizabeth became the seventh star eliminated from the competition. The elimination came one week after Shannon Elizabeth and Hough criticized the judges for marking them down for a lack of hip action while couples with "heel leads", "feet coming off the floor", and "horrific, demented lines" received higher scores. The comments are attributed to Elizabeth's elimination from the show, having never been in the bottom two prior to the outburst.
Starred as singer Enrique Iglesias' love interest in the video for his third American single, "Be With You."
