World War II.1951 - Joined the Communication Workers of America (CWA) as an in-plant organizer at Mackay Radio and Telegraph in New York.1957 - Morton Bahr joined the CWA staff and was the lead organizer in a campaign that brought 24,000 plant workers in the New York Telephone Company into CWA. 1961 - Appointed CWA's New York director.1963 - Elected Vice President of District 1, which covered New York, New Jersey, and New England.1983 - Bahr graduated from The Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Center for Labor Studies of Empire State College. 1985-2005 - Elected as the third president of the CWA.
